This section is dedicated to the creative endeavors of friends and acquaintances of mine.  The works appearing here were originally published in The Daily Marklar (DM), the Creative Mind (CM), or Charon Rising (CR).  Although it is entitled "Writings" this section also includes artwork that published in these sources.  All works are copyrighted by their respective authors and may not be duplicated or used for any purpose without the express written permission of the author(s).  Don't steal stuff.  It's just wrong.

CR: Charon Rising was a science fiction and fantasy fanzine that ran a mind-numbing two issues.  The first (1992; v.1 #1) was printed and distributed complete with five stories and nine illustrations.  The second (1998; v.1 #2) was solely electronic.  The remaining four promised issues (v.2 #1-4) have yet to appear.

DM: The Daily Marklar is an email-based South Park fanzine.  It has lasted over 1300 issues and continues to this day.  It has gone through a variety of format and management changes: DM (2001; 255 issues), DMv2 (2001-2002; 445 issues), DMv3 (2003; 300 issues, including the final 97 in 17 days), SPDM (2003-present; over 370 issues and counting).

CM: The Creative Mind was an email-based creative outlet run by Joseph Becker.  It ran for two volumes: CMv1 (2002; 80 numbered issues + 2 special issues, roughly 3-5 issues per week) and CMv2 (2003; 15 issues, weekly).  It ended when Joseph disappeared on us.  If you hear from him, please let us know.

*1 - Chapters 9-11 of Tabi's story "Killing Fred" were probably intended to be published in a single issue of CMv2, but never did.  I'm not sure what happened.

*2 - "Three Strikes, You're Out" was scheduled to appear in CR #3 which never appeared.

*3 - Kentucky Woman's picture entitled "Cactus" which appeared in CMv1 #18, didn't arrive in my mailbox with the issue and is therefore missing from this archive.   It is listed here simply for completeness.

Definitions

Novel: 40,000 words or more.**
Novella: 17,500-40,000 words.
Novelette: 7,500-17,500 words.
Short Story: less than 7,500 words.

**These definitions are the ones used by the World Science Fiction Convention when awarding the Hugos.
