Ev'rything seem'd fine in the beginning
The gun went off loudly and we just ran
We even had a chance to leave winning
But then their runners shot past lead man
This entire race seemed very hopeless
Our team had lost this meet the day before
The cross country team boys alooked a mess
Yet the Maine South Hawks striv'd for something more
Schreiner, Udzielak, and Winston Williams
A ray of hope pulling up from behind
An exstatic coach yells over the crowd's hums
The nerve wrecking pressure is on each mind
Winston takes the lead, Greg comes soon after
A Hawk win leads to good times and laughter.
