It was thirty years that the desert sun held me fast
Like candle wax I was melted into the desert sand

In secrecy I would climb the long steep road and
Looking out on the plateau would say
"Someday you will be mine"

Ponder and thought, work and save,
Planning, planning and more planning

Finally the mountain was mine
And I was the mountain

And I called the mountain Mickey, and Dave
And Prartho, and Ramone
I called the mountain Ellie and Brian and Sayard and Tamra
I called it Missie and Vicki and Marjean and Gerry
I called the mountain all the names I love

And the mountain called me by my name
