I awaken in the morning
To find myself alone
Alone- With just my memory
My memory of a dream
A beautiful dream
Of being together with thee
Oh- Where has the sweet night gone
That brought this dream to me
A dream so real and so sublime
Of walking through a forest primeval
In the early morning light
Holding your hand in mine
Before us the shadowy path unwinds
Beneath the towering trees
Birds sing their greeting
Chipmunks and squirrels play their games
Deer wander amongst the trees
Such joy! Such bliss!
Oh- The feeling is divine
Walking through this forest primeval
In the early morning light
Holding your hand in mine
A dream so real and so sublime
Then I awaken in the morning
Only to find myself alone
Alone- With just my memory
My memory of a dream
A beautiful dream
Of being together with me
Oh- Where has the sweet night gone
That brought this dream to me
