Scary-Go-Round Idol

John Allison of Scary-Go-Round is holding a contest called Scary-Go-Round Idol. I've been a fan of SGR for quite some time, so of course I wanted to enter. I started with a general idea for a strip. It called for Shelly...

...for Amy...

...and for some giant green squirrels...

Then I finalized the script:

SGRI-1: Cobblestone street; shops; Shelly and Amy
SHELLY: But Amy, they really want to meet you.
AMY: I don't care. I've had enough of goblins, and robots, and zombies.

SGRI-2: same, Marcus, Keri, and Jimmy in background
SHELLY: But they're not any of those things. They're giant green squirrels from the future.
AMY: Don't care. Don't care. Don't care.

SGRI-3: same
SHELLY: But Ames--
AMY: No! I just want to go to the pub and find a boy who's nice to look at and who will buy me pints until I forget all about vampires and time-travelling teapots and all such rubbish.

SGRI-4: Shelly's room; Shelly, Giant Green Squirrels
SHELLY: She wouldn't listen to me.
SQUIRREL: We knew she wouldn't. You wrote in the great book "Di-Ary" that when we came that the great Mistress-General Am-Mee refused to see us, instead choosing to endure the hardships that our gifts of gold and jewels would have saved her from. Our past, her future, is set. SO it is written.
OTHER TWO SQUIRRELS: So shall it be.
SHELLY: Ooo shiny!

With the script in hand I had two sets to design, the street...

Then I put it all together :
